Why Trust the Bible? by Amy Orr-Ewing - IVP

Challenged by her friends and later by theological staff, Amy Orr-Ewing was determined to leave no stone unturned in her eagerness to prove that the Bible was unique and wholly reliable. Her passion drove her to complete an in-depth study of the answers to ten of the most frequently raised objections she encountered.
In this little book, Amy delves into the historicity of the Biblical text, the reliability of the thousands of manuscripts that we have and questions of interpretation. She looks at how the canon of Holy Scripture was determined and also the relevance and validity of other holy books.
Having concluded that the Bible can be trusted, she goes on to say that this is not enough. There has to be a personal relationship with Jesus, the Son of God who came to earth as a man to show us what God is like.

Know Why We Believe - Connecting faith and reason by Paul E Little - Victor

“What is faith?” the Sunday school teacher asked. Quick as a flash, one young lad answered “Believing something you know isn’t true”
It was this false answer that Paul Little spent much of his short life trying to dispel. Encouraged in an early lecture when one young man came to Christ, he spent the next 25 years of his life travelling from campus to campus tirelessly spending hours talking one-to-one with students. On hundreds of campuses over five continents he sought to capture the attention of the bored, the academic and the athletic. He found that regardless of the group there were twelve commonly asked questions.
In this book he addresses each of these, tackling such questions as Is Christianity rational?; Is there a God?; Does archaeology verify scripture?; Why does God allow suffering?; and is Christian experience valid? A well written easy-to-read book, which will strengthen your own faith and help you in answering those who question why you believe.

The Case for Christ by Lee Strobel - Zondervan

As an investigative journalist, with a law degree from Yale, converted atheist Lee Strobel sets his mind on the evidence for Christ. Who were the eye-witnesses and is their testimony true? Are the biographies we have in our Bibles reliable? What is the evidence from outside these biographies? What sort of a man was Jesus and what did he claim? How much is history and how much is blind faith?
Bit by bit Lee builds the case for Christ and leaves you the reader to reach your own verdict.
With his unique experience, Lee challenges every piece of evidence and asks “Can this be true?” You have to find the answer.
An extremely readable, almost exciting book, which every Christian should have on his bookshelf.
